Dana Carvey was born on June 2, 1955 in Missoula, Montana. Dana Carvey began his showbiz career doing stand up comedy in the San Francisco Bay area. In 1981 Dana Carvey moved to Los Angeles and joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1986. Dana Carvey had great success at Saturday night live with his uncanny impersonations of George Bush, Ross Perot, James Stewart and Johnny Carson. Some of Dana Carvey's most memberable Satruday Night Live characters gave us many popular catch phrases such as the church lady - "isn't that special" and Hans of the Austrian bodybuilding team "I want to Pump you Up." In 1996 Dana Carey even briefly hosted a short lived variety show called the Dana Carve Show. Dana Carvey took his loveable character Saturday Night Live Character Garth to the big screen twice in Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 (Mike Meyers). Dana Carvey also showed he had the comedic talent to portray non SNL characters on the big screen in movies such as Clean Slate (James Earl Jones) and The Master of Disguise (James Brolin). Dana Carvey did have a small role in fellow SNL Alum Adam Sandler's movie Little Nicky (Adam Sandler, Patricia Arquette). |
