Perhaps the most beloved actor of
all time, James (Jimmy) Stewart perfected the role of the average guy who
tries to do the right thing. Stewarts early career is perhaps
most notable for the films he made with director Frank Capra, including
You Can't Take It With You and Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington. Jimmy's portrayal of George Bailey in Capra's It's
a Wonderful Life, Stewarts first film after returning from the
war, was a defining performance in his career and is still one of the most
run movies on TV today. James Stewart also starred in four
highly regarded Alfred Hitchcock
films: Rope, Rear Window, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and
Vertigo. All in all, the list of Jimmy Stewart films is
long and full of great classics.
