Zach Braff was born on April 6, 1975 in Red Bank, NJ. Zach Braff was raised in South Orange until he was 18 years old. Zach Braff then enrolled in an intensive, six-week New York theatrical camp called Stagedoor Manor in the Catskills when he was 11 years old. Stagemoor Manor had many famous attendees through the years: Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bryce Dallas Howard and future co-star Natalie Portman. Zach Braff then went to Columbia High School in Maplewood. Columbia High School has other notable graduates including Lauryn Hill, Elizabeth and Andrew Shue, Roy Scheider and producer Joel Silver. At age 18, Zach Braff played the son of Woody Allen and Diane Keaton in "Manhattan Murder Mystery". After doing commercials and public service announcents, Zach Braff made his big break J.D. on NBC's popular sitcom Scrubs. Like many television actors Zach Braff has transitioned his talents to the big screen with some success. Zach Braff had his directorial debut with the movie Garden State (Natalie Portman) that he also starred in. Zach Braff probably had the most file success when he voiced the lead Character in Disney's Chicken Little (Steve Zahn). |
